Fine Arts

Oliver Elementary School Chorus has been in existence since 1991. Staff member Lori Martine directs this extra-curricular choir during the fall term in order to reach out to our community musically for Remembrance Day and Christmas events. Students in grades 4 - 7 are able to sign up for this non-auditioned group which rehearses Thursdays from 2:30 - 4:00 pm in the music room.
Last year the OES Chorus participated in the OSNS Telethon.
Each year since 1991, the OES Fine Arts Club Musical Theatre Ensemble puts on a broadway musical or choral review. Rehearsals begin in December and continue until early May. Students in grade 3 - 7 are able to join with auditions running throughout November, December. Watch for notices regarding audition times and locations. Full cast rehearsals are Thursdays from 2:30 - 4:30 pm in the music room (There is no conflict with Chorus rehearsals.)
This year's production is 'Disney's Moana Jr.'.

Oliver Elementary School Handbell Teams rehearse for the fall term during lunch times (groupings and days to be determined). Students prepare Christmas music for community events in November and December.
When available, during Term 2, students can apply to work with other Grade 4 - 7 students studying theatre arts and self-expression. Students meet one day a week for the afternoon. All applicants must be registered in the Musical Theatre group concurrently.
