ELL at OES
OES is one school with many voices, and we value everything that makes our students, their family members and our staff unique people! The ELL (English Language Learning) program at OES promotes a welcoming and diverse learning environment that aims to develop student’s language skills. An appointment is made, and an initial language assessment is done by the ELL specialist to determine if a student is eligible for ELL services. The ELL program works with students, who need additional assistance to learn English, in one-on-one, small group and whole class settings. Teachers and ELL specialists work together to develop activities, lessons and resources that meet the academic needs of the students, celebrate diversity and promote language acquisition.
